The First Lady, sat down with CNN iReport to encourage young adults to travel.

Mrs. Obama answered questions about her travel experiences-when asked what her first passport stamp was; she revealed it was a trip to Paris, France.

She went on to say how afraid she was to ask her father to fund the trip because she felt it was an extravagance at the time.

When she finally mustered up enough courage, she approached her dad saying, “My sophomore class have a chance to spend a week in France,” and before she could finish he didn’t blink an eye.  She said, “He wanted me to have all of the experiences that he didn’t have.”

Mrs. Obama went on to say it is a priority of hers to expose her daughters to the world and encourage young adults to seize the opportunity to travel.  “We want this not just for our girls but we want that for you guys, too.” she said. “And when you find the opportunity, take it, okay? That’s going to make you just, better people, smarter people, and it’s a lot of fun too.”

The First Family sans the President just wrapped up a week long tour of China.  Gotta love it!
