Bad Boy Records artist French Montana was recently stopped by NYPD and a member of his crew decided to film the entire ordeal.
What appeared to be a drama-free incident is somewhat controversial in light of the recent police shootings of unarmed black men.
The video below shows a jovial French speaking with officers rather care-freely saying, “I didn’t do nothing,” followed by a laugh and then, “Black Lives Matter.”
Now in his defense, one could argue this was an attempt to show some officers actually have a sense of humor and are not necessarily trigger happy.
I just think this subject is entirely too sensitive for him to be joking around and then posting it to social media.
Especially in today’s climate, one of his young, impressionable fans might attempt to do this very same thing and have a much different outcome.
