A Georgia family was able to avoid eviction thanks to the angel amongst us, Tyler Perry.
Xernna Nieves and her family arrived home from a Make-A-Wish event only to find an eviction notice on the front door.
Nieves admitted to having trouble paying rent in the past, but says the apartment complex had always worked with her.
This time she wasn’t so fortunate when trying to pay back rents for March and April as the apartment manager had already filed a rite of eviction.
Nieves told Chanel 6 news that she had no place to go, and couldn’t put into words what would happen if her family of five, which includes a 16-year old son who suffers from severe aplastic anemia, were evicted.
When Tyler Perry saw Nieves’ story on Channel 2 Action News, he reached out and offered to pay, not only the back-rent, but one full year.
Needless to say, Nieves and her family were very appreciative of Perry’s good-will and thanked him for watching the news when he did.
“We appreciate it. It will allow me to get John back on his feet,” Nieves said.
The eviction was already scheduled this morning so it’s unclear if they were able to reach the appropriate authorities in time.
Perry who is known for his generosity is close friends with the queen of generosity Ms. Oprah Winfrey. They both subscribe to Luke 12:48, “Whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.”
