Walmart fights back saying comedian Tracy Morgan is to blame for most of his injuries by not wearing a seat belt in the accident that took the life of his good-friend, Jimmy Mack.
TMZ is reporting,
Tracy Morgan has only himself to blame for the horrific injuries he suffered in the accident with a Walmart truck … because he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt … Walmart is now claiming.
According to new legal docs … Walmart is laying blame on Tracy for NOT strapping in while riding home in a limo van in NJ back in June. The company says that’s what caused most, if not all, of Tracy’s injuries.
As for any responsibility falling on the driver of the Walmart tractor trailer — the company says it can’t comment because of the “ongoing investigation.” Walmart won’t even confirm the driver, Kevin Roper, was an employee.
Tracy sued Walmart for that accident that left him seriously injured, and killed his friend Jimmy Mack.
Morgan released a statement in response to Walmart saying,
“I can’t believe Wal-Mart is blaming me for an accident that they caused. My friends and I were doing nothing wrong.
“I want to thank my fans for sticking with me during this difficult time. I love you all.
“I’m fighting hard every day to get back.”
When all else fails blame the victim. Whether he was wearing a seat belt or not still doesn’t negate the fact Walmart’s driver was negligent. I guess this is their way of negotiating lesser settlement.
